"Thank you, State Farm! Jim Tatro has been my State Farm agent for a number of years now. A recent traffic accident sent me back to his office. As always, he was courteous, personable, friendly, and very, very helpful. I also maintain homeowner’s insurance with State Farm, and they’ve been with us through several incidents... one of the worst being when a tree fell on a home during a windstorm and broke through the roof in several places. Working with State Farm, we were able to have the roof replaced easily, choosing a construction company whose work we were very pleased with. I trust Jim and value his advice!"

"It’s truly disappointing to watch a small business crumble from what was once a well-run, attentive office to one that can’t even deliver the bare minimum in service. I don’t take pleasure in leaving this review, but Jim Tatro’s State Farm office has become just that. Jim used to be actively engaged, backed by a capable staff, but those days are long gone. Now, it’s a constant game of reaching voicemail, dealing with a revolving door of new faces, and having emails ignored or mishandled. What’s worse is that I can’t even trust the information they provide after repeatedly receiving incorrect details about my own policies. I believe in second (and third) chances, but there’s a limit. What finally pushed me over the edge—and ultimately led me to move all my policies to another office—was a simple question about whether my auto policy would cover me in Canada. I emailed them, only to be told by Jim’s staff that coverage extended only 50 miles across the border. This struck me as odd since most major insurers cover Canada, so I followed up, asking them to confirm. They assured me Jim had 17 years of experience and knew what he was talking about. Skeptical, I called a non-State Farm agent who confirmed they could cover me for a month in Canada but encouraged me to double-check with my State Farm agent. So, I reached out to three other local State Farm offices, all of which actually answered their phones and told me unequivocally that State Farm policies do cover trips to Canada. I relayed this back to Tatro’s office, only to be told again that I was wrong and they weren’t budging. Finally, I called State Farm corporate, who immediately confirmed my coverage and expressed concern that my local agent was so misinformed after 17 years in business. Even after this, Tatro’s office still insisted corporate was wrong. Unbelievable. At my wit’s end, I suggested a conference call with corporate. They hesitated but eventually agreed, and right as we’re about to get on the call, they suddenly admit, “Oh, we actually spoke with underwriting, and yes, you’re covered.” I was livid—an entire day wasted on a basic question they should’ve known the answer to. That was the final straw. I realized it was time to pull the plug and leave this train wreck of an office for good."

"I have been with Jim for many years and especially appreciate his personal assistance with my 2 claims. A windshield crack was covered and paid for by State Farm directly to the repair company. Very easy process with Jim's help. A recent scrape and dent on my parked car by an insured driver left me uncertain what steps to take as I had not had that experience before. Jim walked me through the process, stayed on the phone with me while talking to the claims department and everything got handled quickly. Five stars for sure!"

"I am a real person (Philip Allison)…I am helping my sister who’s lived in Reno for over 70 years…I grew up in Reno, but live in Idaho, now…I have been trying to get help from her Insurance company for the last month and a half…my sister has paid her premiums with this company for 40 years and never has had a claim…I have Power of Attorney with my sister…I originally called and stated the reason for the call only to have a secretary divert the reason I was calling about to say her yard had dead bushes next to the home…I was staying at my sisters home prior to first contact with this agency cleaning up sisters yard garage, etc…spent a week there…so I am a very real person who expects a personal apology and a retraction on Facebook…"

"They are most of the time unreachable, their phone number goes on voice mail and even after a full description who you are, phone number and the reason I am calling, no call back is received. They might call 3 days later. Everything is taking a while to be done. Being their customer since 2018 - Jeremy Luchak was the best here, but sadly he is no longer with them."

"I recently worked with Jenna, she helped my husband and I with our life insurance policy and I can't recommend her enough. Jenna went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met and that I fully understood the policies available to me. "I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING JIM TATRO!!! Worst customer service ever by the owner himself JIM TATRO. He told me to get the hell out of his office after I asked to transfer my policies to another office due to bad customer service three times in the last couple months. I pay 6 months in advance for all policies and have commercial, residential and multiple vehicles and offroad toys fully covered for almost 10 years with JIM. JIM TATRO is a rude person and treated me with no respect at all. I have a very good size policy that I guarantee other offices would appreciate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING JIM TATRO!!!"

"A bit ago, I had left a mediocre review for Jim and his team. I have since deleted that review. I was a client of Jim's for many years, and through out that time, they really were awesome. I had an issue or two with the way a few things were handled, and I finally went to an agent much closer to where I live. All in all, the issues were very minor, and I know that Jim and his team did their best to help me. I do recommend Jim and his team if you're looking for a State Farm agent."
